The Screenwriters Salon is a public forum on the craft of screenwriting. We present panel discussions, programs and staged script readings for screenwriters and film enthusiasts alike who are encouraged to interact and openly discuss all manner of issues and topics on screenwriting and film, to creat a dialogue with local and national screenwriters as well as scholars, teachers, filmmakers, and critics.

Past program participants have included Kimberly Peirce (Boys Don’t Cry), Sherman Alexie (Smoke Signals), Robinson Devor (The Woman Chaser), Christopher McQuarrie (The Usual Suspects), Randall Wallace (Braveheart), Stewart Stern (Rebel Without a Cause) and Jim Taylor (Election).

Local writers, producers, agents and directors will talk about the ins and outs of selling your screenplay. Hear from a wide spectrum of experts who will instruct you on how to sell your screenplay from step 1-from how to craft your project to make it more attractive to producers and investors, to estimating budgets as well as pitching your ideas and sealing the deal. Hosted by local filmmaker and Stranger film columnist Andy Spletzer and held at the new Northwest Film Forum.
