After the untimely death of his parents, young Aaron McGregor is taken to live with his only known relatives, his Uncle Archie (Reynolds) and Aunt Rebecca (Keller), who live on a farm in the countryside. Though he struggles at first with the austerity of his new home and his new school, he finds kinship with a pack of wolves, and in particular a young wolf wounded by hunters, who he secretly nurses back to health.
